Is it actually legal to murder a scotsman holding a bow and arrow?

In York it is legal to murder a Scotsman within the ancient city walls, but only if he is carrying a bow and arrow. That is a law, (and there are lots of similar laws)

If you actually did murder a scotsman in York (and not with a gun or anything itself illegal), could you offer this up as an actual defence?

Not that I'm considering it of course lol.
