Weve just migrated from SBS2003 to Server 2003 and on SBS2003, we used Remote Web Workplace to connect to PCs on our network from remote sites.
However, as RWW has now gone, we need to find another way to connect until we get our terminal servers installed.
We have 1 site which uses a PPTP connection to a Draytek Router on the network - once that connection is established, they can use RDC to get onto a designated PC. All works great.
However, we have another site, and when trying to do the same thing, I cannot seem to get out of their network. The VPN tells me that it is connected, but I can still only ping IP addresses on their network, not the remote network.
The only difference with this network is that it uses a proxy server on their DC), so to get onto the internet, IE has to route through this address. IE is working OK on these machines, but I cant seem to RDC to the remote PC.
Does anyone have any ideas if PPTP can run through proxy server, and whether there is anything special that has to be set up?
